A frozen lake inside a Changchun forest park hosted a multi-day Volvo winter driving programme for XC90 owners.

Jingyuetan is a forest park and lake district in the south-east of Changchun, Jilin. Its centrepiece is a broad lake ringed by wooded hills, shoreline paths and access roads. In winter the water freezes into a flat, featureless sheet that the park opens for skating, sledding and vehicle activity, while the surrounding forest roads stay in use through the season.
The programme ran across three days: arrival and hotel check-in, a middle day of ice and road driving with a dinner, then departure. On the frozen lake surface, six named modules organised driving exercises in sequence, from drifting and speed work to a forest section and a snow-art component. Road driving took place on the park's surrounding routes.
A frozen lake gives a consistently low-grip, obstacle-free surface that no built track in the region can match in January, and the adjoining forest roads allow road-driving sessions within the same site. The park's scale lets separate exercise areas and participant groups operate without overlapping.
