Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street in central Chengdu hosted a three-day Volvo EX30 installation with a craft workshop for visitors.

Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street is a vehicle-free retail street in downtown Chengdu, running through the Jinjiang district shopping area. It is paved for walking and lined with department stores, brand flagship shops and side lanes. The street functions as a public circulation route between metro exits, malls and food outlets, and its open paving is regularly occupied by temporary brand structures, sampling tables and small stage setups.
A compact installation footprint was placed directly on the walking surface, holding the EX30 display and a seated work area where visitors assembled and finished handbags by hand. The open frontage let passersby enter and leave from the street without ticketing or queuing barriers, and the workshop tables kept people at the installation for longer than a look at the car alone.
Pedestrian streets carry steady, unhurried foot traffic, so a small-format build can be entered casually rather than as a destination visit. The street's scale and mixed retail character suit a compact car message, and the interior workshop gives people a reason to stay in a space normally passed through.
