THE Balvenie at Bund Central Mall — Balvenie Craftsmanship Art Exhibition Se (2022)

Bund Central Mall hosted a three-zone art exhibition by Balvenie and a glass-art studio, inspired by barley seeds.

The venue

Bund Central Mall is a retail complex in Shanghai's Bund district, close to the waterfront. It combines shopping floors, interior circulation and event areas rather than a single dedicated gallery. Cultural projects use its indoor, city-centre setting, where the mall's normal retail environment provides the backdrop and passing visitors form part of the audience.

How the space was used

The project occupied three sequential exhibition zones inside the mall. The first, Yucui, introduced barley and light; the second, Pengchi, presented floating forms and ripening wheat imagery; the third, Fanhua, closed with harvest themes. Glass works, lighting and grain motifs were arranged as a route through the venue, turning ordinary retail circulation into a guided exhibition sequence.
