Shanghai's West Bund Dome Art Center hosted the opening of Rolex's 'Oyster Legend' exhibition, a centenary programme for the Oyster watch case.

The West Bund Dome Art Center is a domed hall on Shanghai's West Bund waterfront in Xuhui district, part of the former industrial riverside strip that has been converted into cultural venues. Beneath the dome the interior reads as one large volume, with no fixed seating and an open main floor, so exhibition builders and event producers can shape the room around a single project.
For the opening, the dome floor carried a seated ceremony: a live performance by soprano Sonya Yoncheva, appearances by brand ambassadors, and exhibition displays tracing the Oyster case and its waterproofing. Outside, the waterfront worked as a second stage, with a drone formation and projection across river-facing facades, closing on the crown emblem and a '100' mark.
A dome with an open floor and a waterfront edge gives a brand two working surfaces: an enclosed interior for ceremony and exhibits, and a dark sky plus river-facing facades outside for drone and projection work. Few central Shanghai venues pair a blank hall with that kind of open backdrop.
