Beijing SKP's ground-floor atrium hosted a two-week pop-up for Prada's White Sun collection, built as an open, pastel-toned room for display and receptions.

Beijing SKP is a luxury department-store complex in Chaoyang District, laid out as a dense grid of brand concessions across several connected floors. The ground-floor atrium sits where the main entrance meets the central circulation spine, a tall void normally crossed by shoppers moving between cosmetics, leather goods and the escalators. Its floor is polished stone, and it is generally kept clear apart from seasonal displays.
For this project the atrium was built out as an open, room-like enclosure without full walls. Cream, pale brown and apricot surfaces lined the interior; pastel back panels framed large wooden tables arranged for product display, with geometric shelving above them. Circulation ran around and between the tables rather than along a single aisle. An opening reception was held inside the same footprint.
Ground-floor atria in luxury malls are the standard host for short brand tenancies in Beijing: they sit on the route between entrance and escalators, need no permanent fit-out, and can be dressed and removed within a tenancy window. The open footprint also lets a reception and a retail display share one space.
