The converted shipyard theatre in Lujiazui hosted the global reveal of the new Porsche Panamera.

1862 Theatre occupies a converted shipyard building on the Pudong riverfront in Lujiazui, Shanghai. Its name references the Shanghai Shipyard and its founding year; the retained industrial structure — brick, steel and tall open halls — now houses a theatre and multi-purpose event spaces. It sits beside the Huangpu River, close to the financial district's towers, and is used for performances, screenings and brand events.
For the global reveal of the new Panamera, the theatre's hall carried a staged presentation built around a sunset image of Shanghai. Amber lighting washed the space, and orange-toned floral arrangements — dahlia, hydrangea, wintersweet, blue thistle — were placed for the pre-reveal reception, tying the room to the launch car's Madeira Gold finish. Guests moved from the reception into the darkened hall for the unveiling.
A converted industrial hall gives an automotive premiere height, darkness and a neutral shell for staging, while its riverfront position keeps the event inside the city rather than on a distant convention ground. The retained heritage structure supplies a cinematic backdrop that suits a design-led product reveal.
