Shanghai Postal Museum hosted a ten-day Louis Vuitton pop-up exploring travel and correspondence.

Shanghai Postal Museum is a museum dedicated to postal history, housed in a historic postal building in Shanghai. Its interior includes a domed main hall and historic service counters. The venue is normally used for exhibitions on communication history and for preserving postal interiors. These heritage rooms give visitors a direct sense of how letters, stamps and travel once connected the city.
During the project, the museum's historic hall became zones for reading, correspondence and digital interaction. The hall displayed Louis Vuitton travel books and used the old counter for postcards, stamps and hand-stamping. Under the dome, the hall hosted an interactive installation by artist Chen Wei with DeepSeek AI, which turned visitors' travel stories into digital images and poems. The hall also contained a time-space post office zone for letters to the future.
The postal museum suits a project about travel and communication because its historic counters, stamps and domed hall already frame letters as objects of memory. Its exhibition rooms give a limited cultural pop-up ready context rather than requiring a separate set. The museum also attracts visitors inclined to read, write and linger.
