OōEli, a mixed-use arts and retail complex in Hangzhou, hosted a limited-time Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama event in April 2023.

OōEli is a mixed-use cultural and retail complex in Hangzhou, arranged around open plazas and landscaped passages. It combines small-scale buildings, storefronts, courtyards and public circulation, and is normally used for shops, offices, dining and cultural programming. Its ground-level open spaces connect to the surrounding city and support temporary installations and events.
The limited-time activity used the complex's public-facing ground-level spaces as a temporary brand setting. Display and installation elements were integrated into circulation areas and open zones, allowing the event to be encountered along the route through the site. The arrangement connected the activation to the complex's retail and cultural programming rather than isolating it in a single room.
OōEli's mix of retail, culture and open public space suits a limited-run luxury collaboration. The site already attracts design-oriented foot traffic and supports temporary installations in its shared areas, so a brand event can sit within everyday circulation and reach visitors beyond a dedicated exhibition audience.
