A unit inside Hangzhou's OōEli arts and retail complex hosted a Louis Vuitton store for a week in January 2022.

OōEli is a mixed-use complex on Tianmu Shan Road in Hangzhou, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and opened in 2020. It combines office floors, ground-level retail units, restaurants, a bookstore and the BY ART MATTERS museum around paved plazas and planted courtyards. Retail units sit at street level, with glass frontages opening onto walkways that connect the blocks.
The store occupied one of the complex's ground-level retail units for a week in January 2022, with the fit-out contained inside the leased shell. Interior zoning, fixtures and display sequence are not verified in the record. Circulation followed the unit's glass frontage, so passers-by on the surrounding walkway could see into the space; the complex's shared plazas handled queuing and foot traffic.
OōEli draws design-conscious visitors who already come for the museum, bookstore and restaurants, so a ground-level retail unit reaches an audience primed for fashion. Short tenancies suit the complex's programming, and the open-air courtyards give a store room to extend displays beyond its glass line.
