Louis Vuitton at Jinan MixC — Louis Vuitton SS21 Women's Pop-Up (2021)

Jinan MixC hosted a Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2021 women's ready-to-wear pop-up in March 2021.

The venue

Jinan MixC is a shopping mall in Jinan, Shandong, operated under the China Resources MixC brand. The venue is organised around indoor retail concourses and a multi-level atrium, with fashion floors, anchor stores and public circulation linking entrances, dining and event areas. As a city-scale mall, it combines everyday retail traffic with space for temporary brand installations.

How the space was used

For this project, a temporary Louis Vuitton womenswear boutique was installed within the mall's retail concourse. The build created a shop-like enclosure with a defined frontage, presentation surfaces and display props, allowing the Spring/Summer 2021 collection to be shown as a compact retail environment. Shoppers circulated past and through the installation during the three-week run. The same prop set was also reported at Shenzhen Bay MixC.

Why it works here

Jinan MixC concentrates fashion retail and indoor footfall, so a short-run luxury boutique can meet existing mall shoppers without a separate street-facing site. The enclosed concourse supports controlled product display and weather-independent visits, while the mall's fashion-oriented tenant mix makes a womenswear pop-up legible to local luxury customers.
