The Huangpu River in Shanghai hosted a giant Louis Vuitton Speedy installation on a boat, part of a three-installation programme also involving Chengdu.

The Huangpu River runs through Shanghai between the Puxi and Pudong districts. It is a working waterway used by commercial vessels and ferries, with the city skyline along its banks. The river is public infrastructure rather than a fixed exhibition venue. Its broad open surface and exposed waterfront make it visible from multiple points across the city.
For the Speedy launch, a red Speedy more than 12 metres high was mounted on a boat and moved across the Huangpu River. The craft turned the waterway into a moving display, with the oversized object set against the city skyline. The Shanghai and Chengdu programme placed three giant Speedy installations, with this river crossing as the largest element.
The river offers a mobile venue in central Shanghai. Its open water and skyline backdrop suit a launch that relies on scale and long-distance visibility rather than interior circulation. A boat-mounted object can be seen from banks and bridges, making the waterway a public-facing stage.
