A waterfront public pavilion on Haikou's coast hosted a three-day Hermès newspaper kiosk in May 2023.

Sky Mountain Station is a public pavilion building set on the Haikou waterfront, part of the city's chain of coastal service stations along the bay. It sits where the shoreline walk meets open water, with exterior terraces and a covered interior hall. In normal use it serves as a rest and viewing point for visitors walking the coast, rather than as a retail building.
For three days the station's interior hall and terrace were fitted out as a newspaper kiosk: a counter for handing out printed matter, display shelving for titles, and branded graphic panels set against the pavilion's glazing. Circulation moved from the coastal walkway through the open terrace into the hall, keeping the route short and outward-facing to the water.
Coastal public pavilions draw a steady flow of walkers and day visitors without the pressure of a shopping audience. Their open, glazed interiors let a small-format kiosk sit lightly inside the architecture, and the waterfront setting gives a printed-matter giveaway a natural stopping point along an existing route.
