Rockbund Museum Plaza hosted a three-day Hermès newspaper kiosk in September 2024, open daily from 11:00 to 20:00.

Rockbund Museum Plaza is an open public square within Shanghai's Rockbund district near the Bund. It sits among restored early twentieth-century buildings and is used for pedestrian circulation, cultural programming and temporary outdoor installations. The paved plaza provides a compact, street-level setting that connects surrounding lanes, entrances and the wider heritage block.
For this project the plaza held a kiosk modelled on a Paris newspaper stand, finished in Hermès orange. The structure functioned as a distribution point for the Hermès World magazine and as a meeting point within the square. Surrounding areas accommodated coffee, drinks, flowers and creative workshops, with visitors moving between the kiosk and these adjacent activities.
A compact public plaza suits a kiosk format because it offers steady foot traffic, clear visibility and enough open ground for a small cluster of activities. The heritage setting matches the printed-matter theme and lets a short pop-up operate without enclosing or altering the square.
