Shanghai Global Harbor’s L1 atrium hosted Gucci Flora’s Qixi-themed fragrance pop-up, with scent testing, gifting and a guest appearance.

Shanghai Global Harbor is a large shopping complex in Shanghai, with the L1 atrium serving as an open public space inside the mall. The atrium sits within the mall’s retail environment and is accessible to general visitors without a ticket. Its open floor area allows temporary structures to be installed while surrounding shops continue to operate, and the mall’s footfall brings a broad public audience past the site.
For the project, the L1 atrium held an open-plan Gucci Flora installation built around a large perfume-bottle centrepiece, gold frame structures, floral window motifs, printed wallpaper and display panels. Four zones were arranged within the footprint: fragrance testing, floral photo backdrops, gift-box customisation and product display. Visitors moved through the zones at will; on 17 August the brand’s beauty ambassador appeared for a reveal and fan interaction.
A mall atrium works for this kind of fragrance pop-up because it is open to passing retail traffic and does not require ticketed entry. The central position supports a large visual installation, multiple small zones and a scheduled public appearance, while gift-box services and product displays connect directly to Qixi shopping.
