Shanghai's 1930s Paramount Ballroom hosted the China launch party for Gucci's new lipstick collection, staged as an evening event in the historic dance hall.

The Paramount Ballroom (Bailemen) is a 1930s dance hall in Jing'an, Shanghai, occupying upper floors of a corner building on Nanjing Road West. Its centrepiece is a large dance floor with a stage, ringed by raised seating, with a separate foyer that receives guests before they enter the main hall. Art deco detailing runs through the interiors; capacity is not verified. The room is used for dances, concerts and private events.
For the launch, the ballroom was dressed to reference its own past, with the foyer acting as arrival and gathering space before guests passed into the main hall. The dance floor and stage carried the evening's programme, while the surrounding seating framed the room as a party rather than a product display. Zones and capacity are not verified.
A heritage ballroom already holds the evening-wear, performance and nostalgia that a glamour-led beauty launch borrows; the room supplies atmosphere a plain event space would have to construct. Its central Shanghai address, existing stage, floor and foyer let an evening event run without new structure.
