Fendi at iapm Mall — FENDI Summer 2021 Capsule Pop-up (2021)

The ground-floor atrium of iapm Mall in Shanghai hosted FENDI's 2021 Summer capsule limited store and a FENDI CAFFE, with a celebration cocktail reception.

The venue

iapm Mall is a shopping complex in Shanghai. Its ground-floor atrium is an indoor common area inside the retail circulation, surrounded by mall frontage and used for temporary brand installations, displays and customer events. The space sits within the mall's daily foot traffic rather than in a separate exhibition hall, so it is normally a passage and gathering point as well as an event setting.

How the space was used

For this project the ground-floor atrium held a FENDI 2021 Summer capsule limited store together with a FENDI CAFFE limited café. The retail presentation and café were installed as one temporary venue within the mall, and a celebration cocktail reception was held there. The atrium's open floor allowed the store, café and reception to sit in the same central space used by mall visitors.

Why it works here

A mall atrium works for this kind of activation because it places a temporary retail and café environment directly inside existing shopping foot traffic. Shoppers pass the installation without needing a separate ticket or destination, and the indoor common area can hold display, hospitality and reception functions within one visible setting.
