1788 Plaza on Nanjing West Road hosts the FENDI Casa flagship, the furniture brand's first store in China and in Asia.

1788 Plaza is a mixed-use commercial complex on Nanjing West Road in Jing'an, Shanghai, pairing office towers with a street-level retail podium. Its ground-floor units open onto the pavement through wide glass frontages, and the complex sits inside the central stretch of the city where furniture and luxury showrooms cluster. The building is ordinarily used for offices, dining and permanent retail tenancy rather than temporary builds.
For this project the unit was fitted out as a two-level branded showroom. The exterior repeats decorative details from the Milan flagship, and broad glazed shopfronts expose the interior to the street. Inside, Arabescato Vagli marble columns and flooring run through both floors, with furniture set out as room compositions across the 756 square metres of selling space.
Nanjing West Road already draws furniture and luxury buyers moving between neighbouring showrooms, so a street-facing unit here reaches that audience without extra programming. The wide glass frontage lets a two-floor interior be read from the pavement, which suits a furniture brand presenting full room settings rather than single pieces.
