The Dior boutique at Taikoo Li Qiantan carried the brand's 2021 Christmas display, one of several installations staged across Asian and European cities.

Taikoo Li Qiantan is an open-air retail district in Pudong, Shanghai, laid out as low-rise blocks and lanes rather than a single enclosed mall. Its walkways connect street-level shopfronts, upper terraces and small open squares, so visitors move between stores outdoors. The Dior boutique occupies one of these retail units, with frontage onto a pedestrian lane. Store area and unit dimensions are not verified.
For the 2021 Christmas season the boutique was dressed inside and out: displays were built into the store interior and along its frontage, with the installation extending into the adjacent lane. The store formed part of a wider programme running across Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Seoul, Rome, Milan, Hamburg and Moscow. Visitors encountered the display as part of ordinary shopping circulation rather than a separate exhibition area.
Open-air retail districts depend on foot traffic moving past shopfronts, so a seasonal facade and window scheme works as wayfinding as much as decoration. Luxury units sited on lanes rather than inside an enclosed mall rely on the storefront to catch passers-by, and Christmas dressing extends the boutique's visibility into shared outdoor circulation.
