MixC Xiamen's L1 main atrium hosted a Dior Christmas season pop-up through the winter holiday period.

MixC Xiamen is a large enclosed shopping complex in Xiamen's Siming district, laid out around a central circulation spine with retail levels stacked above. The L1 main atrium is the mall's principal open interior volume: a tall, daylit void at the crossing of the main concourses, ringed by upper-level walkways that look down into it, and used normally for circulation and seasonal mall decoration.
For this project the atrium floor was occupied by a built installation rather than left open. The structure sat centrally, holding a defined footprint within the atrium and leaving perimeter routes for visitors to pass and queue, while the surrounding upper walkways kept visual access into the space from the retail levels above for the run of the holiday period.
Mall atriums concentrate footfall from every level into one visible volume, so a brand can meet shoppers who did not come for it. The stacked balconies give the installation a second audience above the floor, and the enclosed setting suits a seasonal gift-focused presentation in winter weather.
