Shanghai IFC hosted Chanel's N°5 Garden, an immersive fragrance installation marking the scent's 105th anniversary with reconstructed Grasse flower fields and a timeline corridor.

Shanghai IFC is a luxury shopping mall in Lujiazui, Pudong, attached to the twin towers of the Shanghai International Finance Centre and linked by walkways to the surrounding office and transit network. Its retail floors are arranged around a central concourse anchored by luxury tenants, and lower levels connect to metro lines, so office workers, shoppers and visitors pass through the building across weekdays and weekends.
The activation occupied an outdoor entrance plot and an adjacent indoor hall. At the entrance, plantings of May rose, jasmine and iris reproduced the Grasse growing fields at full scale, with press-button scent columns set between them. Inside, a corridor carried anniversary markers from 1921 to 2026, a mirrored glass bottle stood three metres tall, and consultation and engraving counters closed the route.
The mall's luxury tenant mix and its steady flow of office, transit and tourist traffic place a fragrance story in front of an audience already shopping at this price level. The outdoor-to-indoor route lets visitors move from an open planted entrance into a controlled interior gallery, suiting a sequence built on scent and narrative rather than product display.
