Grand Palais Éphémère hosted Chanel’s perfume exhibition Le Grand Numéro de Chanel from 15 December 2022 to 9 January 2023.

Grand Palais Éphémère is a temporary exhibition hall in Paris, created to host cultural events and large-scale exhibitions. The venue provides a broad indoor volume that can be partitioned for different programmes, with access arranged around temporary structures rather than permanent galleries. It sits within Paris’s exhibition circuit and is normally used for art, design and brand-led cultural presentations that require a flexible hall.
For Le Grand Numéro de Chanel, the hall was divided into five spaces, each centred on a signature perfume bottle. The installation combined scent with visual, sound and tactile elements. No fixed route was set, so visitors moved between the five perfume universes at will, with circulation open rather than sequenced. The venue’s temporary structure supported a stage-like exhibition layout.
A temporary exhibition hall suits a perfume exhibition that depends on controlled interior conditions and a sequence of constructed rooms. Its open volume allows multiple scent zones and non-linear circulation without permanent gallery constraints, while its Paris location places the project within the city’s cultural calendar.
