Fotografiska Shanghai hosted the Shanghai presentation of the third Jimei x Arles Curatorial Award winners exhibition.

Fotografiska Shanghai is a photography and image-arts centre in Shanghai, forming part of the city's museum and gallery landscape. It is a dedicated exhibition venue rather than a commercial space, with gallery rooms suited to showing lens-based work, prints, moving image and curated group presentations. Its programme is built around photography, making it a place where visitors expect to encounter exhibitions rather than retail displays.
For this project the centre's galleries were used for the Shanghai edition of the award exhibition, presenting the winning curatorial proposal to a public audience. The display was installed as a temporary exhibition within the museum's programme, occupying gallery space for the dates shown. The venue remained in its normal mode as an exhibition site, with visitors moving through the show as part of the museum's public offer.
A photography and image-arts centre is an appropriate host for a photography curatorial award show: the venue already provides gallery conditions, an exhibition-going audience and a programme context in which lens-based work is read. The award format fits the venue's role as a place for curated presentations rather than short promotional displays.
