No.1 Waitanyuan hosted Cartier's Beautés du Monde high jewellery exhibition, presenting more than 400 pieces across three themed chapters.

No.1 Waitanyuan is a heritage building in Shanghai's Waitanyuan area, near the northern end of the Bund. It is a restored historic property used for cultural events, presentations and private functions. Its rooms and reception spaces sit within a period exterior, giving visitors a sequence of interior chambers rather than an open retail floor. The building sits in central Shanghai.
For the exhibition, the interior was divided into three chapters covering nature, gemstones and cultural themes. A dedicated antique collection area presented historical pieces, while a high watchmaking area gathered jewelled and complicated watches. A special-order display and an immersive opal room added separate zones, with circulation moving guests through successive rooms rather than a single hall.
A heritage venue like No.1 Waitanyuan suits high jewellery presentations because its enclosed rooms create controlled, intimate viewing sequences. The domestic scale supports separate chapters and quiet display areas, while the building's historic identity adds context for antique pieces and craft-focused exhibits.
