Shanghai's 1862 Fashion Art Center hosted Cartier's [SUR]NATUREL high jewellery exhibition and an evening gala dinner on 17 October 2020.

1862 Fashion Art Center is a converted industrial building on Shanghai's Pudong riverfront in the Lujiazui district, originally part of the Shanghai Shipyard. It operates as a multidisciplinary arts and events venue, with theatre-style interiors and adaptable halls used for performances, exhibitions and private functions. Its exposed structural elements and waterfront setting give it a distinct industrial character.
For this project, the venue hosted Cartier's [SUR]NATUREL high jewellery exhibition and an evening dinner. The exhibition presented jewellery with references to nature and abstract forms, with guests moving through displays before the dinner. The dinner took place in a green-toned environment with a live vocal performance. The venue's adaptable halls allowed display areas and dining to sit within one event sequence.
The venue suits a high jewellery presentation because its industrial shell and theatrical scale create a neutral, enclosed backdrop for exhibitions and seated dinners. Its position as an arts venue also supports private evening events, letting a brand combine display, performance and hospitality in one controlled sequence.
